WHAT IS STAFF WAGES
To get a head start on your week, you can add your staff's working hours into Insightful Sums and understand how much they may cost you, all before they even start the week.
This is a great way to make sure that you set aside enough money for payroll but more importantly, once you add the hours they are scheduled to work, you straight away see what their targets would be.
Adding Staff Wages by insightfulsums
GETTING STARTED
To get to your WAGES page, click on Staff> Wages
Getting started could not be easier. To add staff hours into Insightful Sum, click on the SET/EDIT HOURS button, which will open the ADD STAFF HOURS popup screen
In the ADD STAFF HOURS popup screen, you are able to start filling in the details, to become more insightful about your wages costs
In the ADD STAFF HOURS popup
- Select the Staff Members name from the dropdown screen
- In the Pay Week Date Field, select the date of THE FIRST DAY OF YOUR PAY WEEK
- Start entering the Start and Finish times of your staff member, as well as any unpaid periods during the day, such as unpaid lunch breaks.
- Click ADD WORKING HOURS to save your staff members working hours
Once you have completed your first staff member's working hours, you can then repeat the steps above to enter in any other staff member's working hours.
HOW TO RECORD WAGES TIMES
When entering times into the ADD STAFF HOURS popup, it is important to remember....
- All times need to be entered in 24 hour format
- All times need to be entered in the format of 00:00, such as 09:30 for 9:30am or 17:30 for 5:30pm
- Unpaid time is recorded as hours or minutes that the staff member is not paid that day. For example, 30min is recorded as 00:30 and 1 hour 45min would be recorded as 01:45
START TIME - This refers to the time that your staff member starts their day, or the time that you start paying your staff member
UNPAID - Unpaid time is any time that your staff member is not being paid during their working day. This could be unpaid lunch breaks, attending personal appointments etc. If it is outside of your employees working hours, you do not need to record this time.
FINISH TIME - This refers to the time that your staff member finishes their day.
