WHAT IS BUSINESS DETAILS

The Business Details section of Insightful Sums, captures important information about your salon and gathers this information to use throughout the software. 

GETTING STARTED

To get to your BUSINESS DETAILS, click on Setup > Business Info

From there you want start adding your details in. Here, you need to complete:

• Business Name
• Business ABN (if applicable)
• Business Phone Number (this is your business number)
• Type of Business

The Type of Business relates to the type of services you provide in your salon. You can select any number of options here from the dropdown options.

Next step is to add your Business Street address. To add this, click on the SET/EDIT ADDRESS button

This will open the Add Business Address popup. Start typing the address of your salon and then select the correct address from the list provided. Once you have selected the correct address for your salon, click the SET ADDRESS button

This will auto populate the address section on your Business Details page. 

Your business address details will be used in the future for some more, extra exciting features we are working on.

OPERATING DETAILS

Now it is time to add your Salon Operating Hours. 

Simply add the hours that your salon opens and closes each day.

When adding your salon hours, you need to enter the time 24 hour format. Also, the format of entering your hours needs to be 00:00, such as 09:30 for 09:30am.

You do not need to click any buttons here, as your hours will automatically save for you.

As you are entering your salon open and close times, it will automatically calculate the total available working hours as you go.

Once you have completed your working hours, it is time to complete the last area of your OPERATING DETAILS. What is important now, is to complete 3 more fields. These fields are:

• Working Weeks per Year
• No. of Staff
• Appointments per Year 

WORKING WEEKS PER YEAR

This refers to the number of weeks that your salon is open. Things to consider here include, but not limited to....

• Shutdown/closed periods (such as Christmas, New Years, Renovations etc)
• Public Holidays
• Regional Holidays

NO. OF STAFF

Include the number of staff that provide treatments. DO NOT include reception staff, administration staff, staff that do not directly provide services in your salon.

APPOINTMENTS PER YEAR

This is one of the most important fields of Insightful Sums

Appointments Per Year is the number of APPOINTMENTS that have been completed in your salon, in the last 12 months (or the selected time frame). The number of appointments MUST BE the same period of time, that your your FINANCES refer to. 

In general, if you are using a Booking System in your salon, you will be able to obtain the number of appointments per year to gather this information. 

Whenever you update your FINANCES, it is crucial to update your APPOINTMENTS PER YEAR, to reflect the same time frame
