How to Add a Service Package

Modified on Tue, 28 Apr at 4:23 PM

Bundling services into packages, whether it is a full colour, cut, and blow-wave combo or a bulk 10-pack of brow tidies, is a great way to secure revenue, but it can easily obscure your true overheads. By building your packages in Insightful Sums, you immediately reveal the combined expenses of multiple services, ensuring your bundled pricing still delivers a clear profit margin rather than a hidden loss.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Navigate to the Menu, select Services, and then click on Packages.

  2. Click on the Add Package button. A pop-up window will appear.

  3. Enter a name for your package into the provided field.

  4. Enter the total price of the package.

  5. Enter any discount applied to this package (this field is optional and may be left blank).

  6. Click the Create Package button. You will be automatically taken to the edit package page.

  7. Use the search field to search for the name of a previously created service that you want to include in this bundle.

  8. Select the service from the search results.

  9. Enter the quantity of that service included in the package.

  10. Click on the + (plus) button to add the service to your package. Repeat steps 7 through 10 to add additional services.

Reading Your Results

As you add individual services to the bundle, Insightful Sums will calculate and display the total normal price of the package, the total combined expenses to perform it, and the estimated profit or loss based on your unique overheads.

Applying This Data

Seeing the exact combined expenses of your bundled treatments empowers you to confidently make a necessary price adjustment, ensuring your package deals attract clients without quietly sacrificing your bottom line.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: Do I need to create the individual services before making a package?

A: Yes. Because a package is built by grouping existing services together, you must first create the individual services in your Service List so they can be searched and added to the bundle.

Q: What kinds of packages can I build?

A: You can build any combination of services. You can group different single services together (such as a colour, blow wave, cut, and straighten) or create bulk packs of a single service (such as a pack of 10 brow tidies).
