WHAT IS RETAIL PRODUCTS

Retail products are the products that are sold within your salon, to customers. Retail products are products that are not generally used in the application of a service or treatment. 

GETTING STARTED

Before jumping in and adding every retail product you sell into Insightful Sums, you must first add the brand or categories, to keep everything easy to find in the future. 

To add a brand or category, click on the CREATE BRAND button first and start listing the categories that relate to your retail products. 

There is no right or wrong way to group or categorise your retail products, as long as you do it so you can find your products easily in the future.  

When you click on the CREATE BRAND button, it will show a popup, where you can start adding everything you need. 

In the popup, all you need to do is type in the name of your brand or category and then click the ADD BRAND button.

As you add your brands or categories, you will see them populate below in the RETAIL BRAND LIST. 

If you want to delete a brand or category, all you need to do is click on the TRASH CAN icon. This will permanently delete the brand or product and it not able to be recovered. 

ADDING RETAIL PRODUCTS

With all of your brand or categories entered, you can then start adding in each of your retail products. 

To get started with this, click on the ADD RETAIL PRODUCT button. This will open the ADD NEW PRODUCT popup. 

In the ADD NEW PRODUCT popup:

1. Add the Product Name (be descriptive, especially if you have more than 1 product that goes by the same name)
2. Select the brand or category name from the dropdown box
3. Add the purchase price of the retail product (how much you buy it for)
4. Enter in the retail price (the price that you sell it for)
5. Click on the ADD PRODUCT button to save this retail product to your list. 

Once you have added the product, you will see it on your RETAIL PRODUCTS page. 

Simply repeat this process for each product that you retail in your salon.

From the RETAIL PRODUCTS page, you are able to filter your retail products, by clicking on the brand or category that you created at the start of this setup, and the products associated will be revealed.
